Activities in Rhythm track interactions associated with a record. Activities are mostly used on Contacts and Organizations.
Managing Activity Types
- From the CRM App, you can click on Contacts to go to the Contacts Overview screen
- Click Setup
- Click Activities on the left navigation panel
- Click on Types
- You will see a list of existing activity types.
- To add a new activity type, click Create Custom Activity Type button
- Enter in a Name. An ID will be auto-generated, but you can modify it before you save the activity type. ID’s must be unique and the system will check for duplicates. Once you save your changes, the ID cannot be changed.
- Click Save to create the activity type.
Manage Activity Custom Fields
- On the left navigation panel, click on Activities then Custom Fields
- Click the Create Activity Custom Field button
- Select the Type of Custom Field from the drop down menu at the top
- Enter in a Name. An ID will be auto-generated, but you can modify it before you save the activity type. ID’s must be unique and the system will check for duplicates. Once you save your changes, the ID cannot be changed.

Choose whether or not to make it a required field

You have the option to add a Form Prompt and Help Text to help users understand what they should be inputting into the field. A form prompt will display in the field while the help text appears below the field.

Depending on the custom field type, you may need to configure additional settings found below the User Guidance section

You have the option to assign a default value to the field

Click the Save Changes button
Activity Timeline
- When viewing a record 360° screen, there is an Activity tab.
- The Activity timeline shows all manually-added custom activities associated with the record.
- Click Add Activity to associate a new activity on the record.
- You can enter in:
- Activity Type
- Summary
- Activity Date
- Description
- Enter any Custom Field values
- Click Save Changes to create the activity
- When viewing the Activity Timeline, you can search through the records activities by using:
- Keyword search field
- Selecting the type of activity
- Date Range
- When hovering over an activity, you can click the Edit icon to make modification or the Delete icon to remove the activity from the record
