Rhythm allows users to take two or more contact records and combine them into one.
Merging from a Contact Record
- When viewing a contact record, our duplicate detection algorithm will display an alert if it thinks that there are one or more potential duplicates. You can click the option to View Potential Duplicates. You can also click on Merge under the Contacts Options Menu.
- When viewing the list of potential duplicates, you will see the following information:
- Source Contact (name of the source record)
- ID
- Postal Code
- Probability (based on our algorithm, the likelihood that the source record has potential duplicates)
- # of Duplicates (the number of potential duplicates associated with the source record)
- Clicking the Expand icon will show the potential duplicates
- Contact Name
- Postal Code
- Probability (based on our algorithm, the likelihood that the record is a duplicate of the source)
- You will have the option to ignore a contact as a duplicate and add them to the whitelist for that source record. This removes the contact from being a potential duplicate of the source contact. Click Ignored Duplicates if you need to undo a previously ignored contact.
- Use the checkboxes to select the records that you want to merge, then click Review and Resolve Merge Conflicts to continue with the merge. If there is a record that you know is a duplicate of the source, but is not caught by our algorithm, you can click Manually Add Duplicate and select the record that you would like to merge into the source.
- To complete the merge, you will be presented with a list of fields with conflicting data across the source and selected duplicates. Select the values that you would like to keep and continue to Preview to confirm all of the information that will be combined before completing the merge.
- Once the merge is completed, the selected records will combine into one. All linked records (Memberships, Registrations, Orders, etc.) associated with all records in the merge will come over.
