Rhythm’s UPS integration makes shipping products a breeze. Set your product’s weight in Rhythm, and when a purchase is made, Rhythm instantly connects with UPS to calculate real-time shipping costs. Plus, you can automatically apply UPS tracking numbers to each order, ensuring easy tracking for you and your customers.
What information is needed before setup?
From Rhythm
Before configuration can begin, please reach out to your CSM or Project Manager for assistance enabling the UPS integration within the Rhythm console.
From UPS
An active UPS shipping account is needed to facilitate the shipping and label creation functionalities within Rhythm using UPS.
What needs to be configured?
Basic Set Up in Rhythm
Begin in the Security and Settings Application, then:
- Click the Integrations menu item
- Select UPS
- Click Connect UPS Account
- Enter in the credentials for your UPS account
- Once the connection has been established, enter a Name for the account
- Enter your UPS Account #
- Set to Test/Debug mode
Configure Shipping Settings
- Go to the Orders and Inventory app
- Click Setup
- Click Shipping
- Click Products
- Click Create Shipping Product
- Set a Business Unit
- Set a Name. The ID will auto-generate based on the name of the business unit. If you want to change the ID for any reason, it must be done at the time of creation as it can not be edited afterward.
- Set a Shipper Name (this is the name that will appear on the shipping label for who is sending the item)
- Click Save Changes
- Click Set Default Shipping Product at the top of screen
- Select the Product you just created (or the desired shipping product)
Set Up Shipping Zones
- From the Orders and Inventory app
- Click Shipping
- Click Zones
- Click Enter a Default Ship From Address
- Enter your desired address
- Click Save Changes
- Click Create Shipping Zone
- Name the Shipping Zone
- Specify what type of Zone this should be (once selected an additional field will appear for configuration of the specific location)
- State(s)- United States states
- Countries - one or more countries
- Postal Codes - specific postal codes around the world
- Rest of the world - catch all for locations other than specified
- Toggle UPS to enabled
- Select your active UPS shipping account
- Set the Price Markup for the zone (this will add on a percentage or dollar amount to the shipping cost)
- None (pass through the UPS cost without any markup)
- Percentage
- Fixed Amount
- Optionally the following can also be configured:
- Use a different Ship From address when shipping from this zone
- Use a different shipping product for this method
- Limit the shipping options available to the customer. This will present you with many different UPS shipping options to choose from. By default your contacts will see:
- UPS Next Day Air
- UPS 2nd Day Air
- UPS Ground
- UPS 3 Day Select
- UPS Next Day Air Saver
- UPS Next Day Air Early
Merchandise Product
In order for the integration to correctly calculate shipping prices, weight on the product must be configured. This can be done by going to a merchandise product and then setting the weight field under the shipping feature.
Please note that before testing the integration fully you will need to turn off Debug Mode on the integration setup in Security and Settings. This will allow Rhythm to receive the shipping prices and create accurate labels.
How do we test the integration?
To test, you will need a contact with an address in the configured Shipping Zone and one product that has shipping enabled.
- From the Orders and Inventory app
- Click Orders
- Click Process Storefront Order
- Select your test contact
- Select their address in the UPS zone
- Click Next
- Click Add Item to Order
- Search for the item that you want to add
- Click Add to Order
- Click Next
- Click the drop down for Shipping Method
- Ensure that all of the options you selected are present and select one
- Select a Payment method
- Click Next
- Click Process Order
- On the order, Click Ship Order
- You will be presented with the overview of what is being shipped, how it will be shipped, and any possible notes
- Once confirmed, click Ship
- Next you will see a screen with the tracking number and a Print Label
- Print the Label to confirm the information
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can we change the Shipper Name for items shipped via UPS?
Yes, the Shipper Name can be changed by editing the integration in the Security and Settings application.
Q: What information is sent to UPS from Rhythm?
Rhythm will send UPS the weight of the package, shipping source, and destination. UPS will then send Rhythm back the pricing and the shipping options available given your configuration.
