Create event sessions from abstracts
Instead of creating sessions one by one, you can convert abstracts into sessions in bulk, in just a few clicks. This feature saves you time and helps move your event program forward without extra manual work.
- In Meetings & Shows, search and select the event that has the abstracts you want to manage, or click Open Events at the top
- Click Abstracts
- Search for abstracts by status
- In the top right corner, click Bulk Changes
- On the left, select the abstracts you want to manage
- On the top right corner, click Change # Abstracts, and in the drop-down menu, click Create Session
- Under Session Type, select from the drop-down menu
- Under Main Presenter Speaker Type, select from the drop-down menu
- Click Update Status
- You’ll see a pop-up window confirming that your bulk updates were successful, and if any errors occurred
- To review the sessions, go to the left navigation menu and click Sessions
- Click Active Sessions or search for sessions by name, type, etc.
- You’ll see a list of all the sessions, and click on the blue arrow on the left next to the session you want to review
Note: We recommend doing no more than 50-100 abstracts at a time. If you have more than 100 abstracts, do them in batches.
Mass update session details
If you want to update event details for sessions in bulk, follow these steps:
- Click Sessions, on the left navigation menu
- Click on Active Sessions at the top or search for your session
- Click Bulk Changes on the top right
- On the left, select the sessions you want to mass update
- On the top right corner, select Change # Sessions, then select Mass Update from the drop-down
- You can update various fields, such as Start Date, End Date, Location, and more.
- Start and End Dates will also allow you to enter a start and end time
- Location refers to rooms
- After you make your selections, click Next
- Enter the information you want to add to the selected sessions, and click Next
- Preview the changes by clicking Download the preview of this mass update
- If the file is not downloading, and you are using Chrome, scroll down for additional information.
- After previewing, under Ready to Update?, click the checkbox next to I have downloaded and reviewed the preview and I'm ready to proceed.
- Click Update Records
- You’ll see a pop-up window confirming that your bulk updates were successful, and if any errors occurred
- To review the actual session changes, click Done in the pop-up window
- Click on the session you want to review
- From there, you can make any edits if needed
Note with Chrome extensions: The preview file should download to your computer. If it opens directly in your browser instead, it can be hard to return to where you left off. This usually happens because of a Chrome extension. To fix it, go to chrome://extensions and temporarily disable the extension shown below. If you don’t have that extension and are experiencing this issue, temporarily disable all extensions.
