Member Engagement Scoring is a tool for associations to have an intuitive way to see directly within Rhythm, how engaged their members are – based on the metrics and weights that you assign.
ENABLE MEMBER ENGAGEMENT SCORING
- Navigate to the CRM app.
- In the left toolbar, select Setup and then Settings.
- Click the checkbox to enable engagement scoring. Checking this option will display two fields for Contact and Organization Scoring Models. Once scoring models are created, you will return here to configure the models you’d like to use.
- Click Save Changes.
- Now that this has been enabled, select Engagement in the left toolbar to begin configuring metrics.
CONFIGURE ENGAGEMENT CATEGORIES
Think of the Engagement Categories as labels. Here you’ll identify which areas of measurement are important to you and your association when it comes to engagement.
- Navigate to the CRM app.
- In the left toolbar, select Setup and then Engagement.
- From the drop-down options, choose Categories.
- Click the Create Engagement Category button or click the pencil icon to edit an existing category.
- Give the category a name, and the ID will auto-generate.
Helpful hint: You can change the category ID if you want it to be something different, but note that you can only do this in the creation process. You will not be able to change the ID later. - Choose a color for the category. The color chosen will represent the category in the engagement pie chart display.
CREATE ENGAGEMENT SCORING MODELS
Personalize the engagement scoring model to measure the activity that matters most to your association with the added ability to have different models for both your individual and organizational members.
For ease of use, Rhythm has standardized the scoring model to 100. All aspects of the scoring model will total 100. The unassigned percentages will appear in gray.
- Navigate to the CRM app.
- In the left toolbar, select Setup and then Engagement.
- From the drop-down options, choose Scoring Models.
- Click the Create Engagement Scoring Model button or click the pencil icon to edit an existing model.
- Choose which type of model you want to create - contact or organization.
- Give the model a name, and the ID will auto-generate.
- Click the Add Scoring Component button.
- Determine if you want to use a system metric or a custom metric.
Note: If you would like to create a custom metric, please reach out to Rhythm's support team for assistance.
- If you are using a system metric, use the dropdown menu to select one of the available options.
- Once you have selected a metric, the component name will auto-populate, but you are welcome to rename it.
- Set the weight of the metric to designate the importance of the metric compared to the overall total.
- Create scoring rules to assign points to a given level of activity. Determine the values for each range and correlate them to the appropriate score.
- Click the Save Changes once you're done.
- Add as many scoring components as you need. The total weight of your scoring components can only equal 100%. If your model already equals 100%, you will not be able to add another scoring component until you adjust the weight of the others.
- Enable automatic engagement category assignment if you want to assign an engagement category to a member based on their score range.
- Click the Save Changes button once your model is complete.
MAINTENANCE TASKS
Once Engagement Scoring is enabled, the system will automatically update on a nightly basis for a month at a time, to keep your scores up to date. Should there ever be changes made to the scoring metrics, categories, or other scoring data, use Maintenance Tasks to regenerate scores based on the adjusted metrics.
- Navigate to the CRM app.
- In the left toolbar, select Setup and then Maintenance Tasks.
- Initiate Renegerate Historical and Current Scores to apply changes to models and pass engagement scores - all history will be rewritten and recalculated based on the current models.
- Initiate Perform Engagement Scoring Lookback to regenerate past metric data.
Note: This can only be done once. If you are unsure if you should do this, contact a member of Rhythm's support team.
